I have been delivered here
Today; there are ideas to explore.
I’m beguiled with breaths to breathe,
Busy with signs to watch for.
A distant siren pierces the cold
Stillness of the morning air
The first cool exhale of autumn
Starts to strip flower stalks bare.
I can see a dawn streaked cloud
Crossing the sky; a falling leaf
From a late flower; a drowsy bee
Droning, powered by self-belief.
Life emerges from the dull
The unremarkable, the small.
The universe is here, unfolding.
I don’t need to move at all.
