Inside, you are beautiful;
I know this. I’ve gazed at mysterious medical
Imaging and seen some clear streamed cystoscopy.
A delicate web of capillaries cradles you -
You are a lacework masterpiece.
Every bit of you works autonomously,
Every organ, each gland moves in its own
Rhythm and follows its own schema.
There is no space for doubt, or fear, no role
For friction here. All combine to support the whole.
But you, you’ve forgotten this,
You doubt what you see and feel, and
Second guess yourself. Too hesitant to trust,
Hollowed by doubt, you craft space for fear,
Attract it, admit it and keep it near
Breathe. Believe. You need to remember
How brave you are, and to trust yourself.
You’ve got it all figured out, if only you knew.
Fear and doubt and dread are malignant;
Don’t let them seed and consume you.
