Neuroplasticity

The brain is plastic, not static.
It grows, it learns, despite us.
Each experience indelibly linked
To the last. Like paint on a canvas,
Each layer upon layer of learning
Forms a picture, emerging by degree.
Distinct and solid, like scar tissue
It marks where the growing will be.
But you have to understand this.
You have to be aware and undiminished
By your inert, ingrained belief
That you are closed and finished.
You are not. Look up; the sky is vast.
Look around at this world. Be amazed
At its potential. You can and must
Fill it with your brilliance. Blaze.
