Limits

My boundaries are loose
Soft, where once they were absolute
Relaxed, where once they were resolute.
I patrol them still, armed
With a dream, and an idea
Of where they should be.
They are for pushing,
Not maintaining. No rigidity;
Give me permeability
So gems can shine through.
Fences need mending,
I know, but also extending.
