Dark Matter

I see you, shadow.
You are always with me,
Just beyond the corner of my eye.
You are darkness, infinity,
Waiting to swallow me whole.
I hear your siren call;
Your whispered lies and
Your distorted, seductive truths.
You speak my name, and
You tell me you are waiting,
Underneath the lattice-like
Lisle of my familiar life,
For a gap to appear.
Like an opportunist thief
You will force entry.
I see you; you do not rule me.
I own you; you will not consume me.
